The former Milford High, Assumption College and Worcester Tornadoes star signed a deal with the Twins on Thursday and will head to Fort Myers, Fla., for spring training.

| Josh Beckett threw 68 pitches in a rehab star at Triple-A Pawtucket, striking out four in a strong outing. It appears Beckett is close to returning to the Red Sox for the first time since May 19. One of the greatest post-season pitchers of all time, he will be a huge boost to the ailing Red Sox in the second half of the season.
