A fan called out to Alan Embree yesterday afternoon at the Red Sox [team stats] minorleague training complex, asking the relief pitcher to sign a World Series bat.

“Only if it’s from 2004,” Embree said with a wink and a smile before heading over to autograph the bat, that was, indeed, from 2004 - the last full season of his first go-round with the Red Sox.

Embree is in demand again, and it’s not just from autograph seekers.
