| | Great piece by Tony Mazz about Kevin Youkilis & the speed, errrr or lack thereof, he brings to the game.
He sure does bring a different element to the AL East as he spends a good deal of time in the batter's box facing pitch after pitch after pitch after pitch after...you get the idea.
Mazz says that time stops when Youk is at-bat. Maybe so, but he also says it's worth every second...

| | Interesting story about stolen base figures & the major shift that is currently taking place between the NL & the AL.
"If you would have asked me who's leading, the NL or the AL, I would have said the NL," said Red Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury.
But guess what? Ellsbury would be wrong.
I don't know about you, but I personally think this is an exciting...

Ellsbury & the Rewards of Risk-Taking

| | Incredibly interesting story on taking chances as illustrated by Jacoby Ellsbury...why we don't do it, why it's scary & why we should go ahead and do it more. Today most of us avoid risk. Instead, we try to play it safe, which is perfectly understandable given the conditions of the economy and the world we currently live in.But we also can't live in fear and this story (using our...

| | Fantastic little piece from Bob Ryan at the Globe about two of my favorite players in Boston sports...Jacoby Ellsbury & Rajon Rondo.
Ryan talks about how these two young players each have one of my favorite traits in a player of any sport...electricity!!
He may be a little tough on our boy Ells, but don't pretend like you weren't thinking the same thing BHS (before home steal)......

| | Tim Wakefield did his part with only one hit in 7 innings. We enter the 9th. Score 0-0. And Jason Bay does it again. After a Pedroia walk and an Ortiz single, Bay steps up to the plate and slams a homer. Very, nice Bay, very nice indeed. And here's a nice little quote from Francona..."Maybe 'clutch' is you've got to be good enough to have the talent, then when the opportunity comes,...

| | You guys know my love for the photo galleries and this is one I absolutely have to post!!!
Less than two weeks ago, Red Sox Nation had a dire outlook after the Sox slumped to a 2-6 start to the season. They've won 10 straight since -- including a 9-0 homestand -- and things are suddenly looking a lot sunnier. Here's a look at each of the games on the Red Sox' streak.
Ahhhhh yes, such...
