So we can blame the rain for derailing what could have been a good start for Daisuke Matsuzaka, but what/who can we blame next start? Seriously, I'm being critical because performances like on Friday, 4 innings pitched, 7 hits, & 4 runs, shouldn't be put in a pitchers "good" category...
The bullpen didn't do too shabby pitching 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs, by way of Delcarmen & Okajima.

Getting things started early, Don said that the Phillies had the best defense in the Majors, but in the first inning, it sure didn't seem like it, the Sox plated 3 from errors, & another 2 from a Jason Bay home run. Then the Sox had a 3 run 5th, thank to Tek, Lugo, & Pedroia. Then a 2 run 7th thanks to Ellsbury & Jason Bay. & Jacoby homered in the 9th to make the final score 11-6.
A couple side notes, Julio Lugo went 4-5, & Dustin Pedroia at least got one hit, an RBI single.

I expect nothing less than dominance from Josh Beckett tomorrow. But he'll deliver like he always does. I'm smelling sweep, but I can't get too ahead!

	JAPAN IS TO BLAME IN MY EYES FOR DICE-K THIS SEASON! THEY WORKED HIM TWICE AS HARD AS ANY OTHER PITCHER IN THE WBC! HE WAS ON POINT....HENCE THE MVP! BUT I THINK IT DID MORE DAMAGE TO HIS MLB CAREER FOR THIS SEASON! I THINK HE'LL HAVE A "MUCH" BETTER SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON! 06/14/2009 6:43 PM

	We need to be a bit critical of Dice-K. Some will argue this, but I personally never thought he was worth the money spent JUST to negotiate the right to sign him. He is a mediaocre pitcher, and guys like lester are much better yet didn't get nearly the salary. Dice-K never lived up to the hype and wasn't the phenomenom we were led to believe he was. I support all the players, and wish him well when he takes the hill, but I do not have great confidence in him right now. 	Get real. Dice-K has his 100 plus million and is set for life. You think for one minute he gives a rats a** about the Sox? His biggest concern is how may days left till he can go back to Japan. 06/14/2009 6:36 AM

	To be fair to Dice-K, following the game he didn't want to blame the rain/delay himself. He knows he's struggling but can't find a cause. I always thought the Sox paid too much for the guy but what he's going through has to be frustrating for any pitcher. 06/14/2009 3:54 AM
