Kevin Youkilis was suspended 5 games for charging the mound after being “plunked” by Detroit’s Rick Porcello Tuesday night.  Youkilis’ actions triggered a bullpen clearing brawl which seemed to light a fire under the Sox’s rear end.  Porcello received the same punishment, but promptly appealed.  Youkilis, on the other hand, didn’t bother.  

He was of the mind set that the best thing to do was to get the penalty out of the way as quickly as possible.  Thus, Youks started serving his suspension Wednesday, which will carry him through the weekend series against the Rangers. 

And since Monday is an off day, I’m told he and his wife decided to book a five day, four night get away at Atlantis in the Bahamas.
