What a Monday for sports!
Celtics beat the Cavaliers 104-86
Bruins pawned the Flyers 3-2
Red Sox owned the Angels 17-8
Talk about a win for Boston teams, huh?
But let's get down to baseball. The Sox came out swinging (literally) and manned a 20 hit assault on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Booyeah. Now, shall we look at some key stats? Sure!
Good ole Mikey Lowell came to the plate and belted THREE doubles, and one single to amount to a 4-4 night with 2 runs and 4 RBIs.
The stoic J.D. Drew had three singles, a double under his belt at the end of the night. He went 4-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs.
Too bad so sad for the Angels pitchers cause there were many bombs being set off in Fenway last night. Let's count em up!
1) Kevin Youkilis slams his 5th homer out into Lansdowne street.
2) Bill Hall hits a two runner, his first in a Sox uniform, into the Monster seats.
3) Adrian Beltre, following suit, hit his first HR in a Sox uniform (in almost the same location as Hall's).
4) Dustin "The Destroya" Pedroia also slams one into the monster seats for a three runner.
It was nice to see everyone coming up to bat and producing. Those 20 hits were spread all over the place. Overall, it was a fun game to watch for sure.
The only moment of somewhat stress was when Scott Schoeneweis was up and let three runs score on 4 hits (3 doubles and a single).
Adrian Beltre did, however, make his 6th error on the season at third so far. It didn't effect the score in the end, but should we be worried? What do you think?
Overall, great night. Let's see if we saved some runs for tonight. Jonny Lester is pitching at 7:10, enjoy the game.
One last thought before I need to leave to treat my sudden burst of hiccups...
Thoughts and prayers go to Dave Roberts and his family. The outlook is good, but let's keep him and his health in our minds.
Have a good one folks!
