Well, Red Sox Nation...we've certainly seen some changes lately, huh? Lots! We can all heave a sigh of relief now that the trading deadline is past. We can sleep better at night, and have an appetite again. Ok...well I exaggerate. Good news: We have Victor Martinez and Casey Kotchman. Sure fine. Bad news: We lost Justin "Always Smiling" Masterson. I wont be the first or last to say he will be missed. Ready for round two? Good news: We have Josh Reddick who hit a double off of Hernandez earlier in yesterday's game. Bad news: In order to fit the new guys, George Kottaras has been placed on the DL with a lower back strain. I dont know about anyone else, but I have a strange fascination with that man. Ready for more drama? Drama 1: The Dice-K drama. A classic he said, he said to the press kinda deal. Seems to be resolved. Let by gones be by gones...lets get him back to the way he was..fast. Drama 2: As Im sure everyone and their brother knows already, Big Papi was tested positive for PED's in 2003. My question for y'all is...does it really matter? That was 6 years ago. SIX YEARS?!? (Wow...I just made myself feel really old).
But the point Im trying to make in mentioning Big Papi is that I think (and this is just my opinion) no one really seems miffed by it. I dont know if he did it in 2003 or not, but I do NOT think hes on them now...and the present is all that matters right? Lets move on. You cant do something and then get punished in six years. Things have changed, rules and regulations, but this was before the testing became mandatory in 2004. Like I just said, lets move on. Put all this drama behind us and win some games!
What does SawxHeads think of all this? Any opinions?
Oh and anyone reading Pedrioa's book? If not, go out and get it immediately...you wont regret it. Hysterical.
