Well...maybe kinda sorta.
Over the weekend, all of Red Sox Nation's dreams came true (at least mine did!). Julio Lugo is gone.

But not just gone.

He's been spotted with the Mets. Let me interject a lil tidbittle of the article I just came upon on NESN.

Quote: "An American League source recently told Adam Rubin of the New York Daily News that Red Sox shortstop Julio Lugo has been working out at the Mets' Dominican Republic complex."

I would also like to point out the key words in that sentence. That is: HAS BEEN. Has been working out at the Mets' complex. Is that where he was when he wasnt in Toronto the day BEFORE he got put on designated assignment. Makes me wonder.

But I wont jump to conclusions. Im just stating facts...I'll let you come to  your own conclusions.

On the other hand, I'm happy he's gone. As Theo Epstein said "we were paying for past performance and we got burnt." BURNT. I love that man, Im just sayin'.

In other news. My bestie and I made a little run to Beantown today.
Well...ok I lied. It was more than a little run.
It was like a day filled with Red Sox awesome-ness. Lets just say...we walked around Fenway and stayed in the Yawkee Way Store for the good majority of the afternoon. Just like how your supposed to right? Right.

We also saw two men in Yankee t-shirts walking around the North End whilst visiting the Old North Church. We gave them glares and assumed they were either brave or dumb. Probably a little bit of both.

Well, Mondays 15 minutes away, I should go to bed. But I wont. Texas Rangers tomorrow. Im gonna wear my new found Ellsbury jersey that I pretty much had to sell my first born child (who doesnt exist yet) to buy. But I exaggerate. Enjoy the game tomorrow my fellow Red Sox-ers!

Made my day,Ive been sating all along Green is/was/has been a much better performer offensively and defensively.Ive been sitting back waiting for this to happen.Lugo shot off his mouth too much in spring training about how no doubt he was the starting ss.But then when it came down to it....well reminded me alot of Manny. All talk.

Lowrie was impressive from the jump, but then he struggled mightily. I am not giving up on the kid, but I just don't think that he is going to be an all star caliber player in his career. Nick Green is the answer at SS right now, then we need to secure that spot up for the future...in my opinion.

I'm a huge Nick Green fan and I'm very exicited and shocked by his play this year. He has been amazing. Jed Lowrie came on the scene last year and was impressive but I still think he is 3rd baseman more than a SS. I'll miss Lugo and hope he does well with his new team.

Red Sox ..
Lugo has played quite well in his limited time this season, he has hit the ball and hasn't been terrible in the field (though he hasn't been great either)...so why, again, are you thrilled that he is gone? Is it because we now have a career back-up in Nick Green that could come back down to earth any second, or is it that we have Jed Lowrie who is unproven? Now, I am not "sorry" to see Lugo go, per se, but why all the hate? No matter what happens, you can bet that, though Lugo will be sporting another uniform, he will still be on the Sox payroll! ...View More

Lugs and the Sox probably had some sort of agreement. His trade value SUCKED !! Not to mention that Theo didn't help that out by his down talk. Why bash a guy trying to find work, when his present GM couldn't. The writing was on the wall so WHY is Lugo AGAIN the Bad guy ??? What's the logic here ?? Aside from kicking a guy who's down ???
