Now, I know that this is a Red Sox site, but I just returned from a music convention in Memphis (yes, folks, I am a musician and folk music D-J on public radio). I was blown away by a song by a Nashville-based musician, Peter Cooper, about Hank Aaron. It's called "715," and it is amazing. I get between 20 and 60 CDs a week from folk and acoustic musicians a week at the radio station to consider for airplay, and, as you can imagine, I am inundated with stuff to listen to. I go to this convention every year and look for something new and exciting. This song was definitely one of the highlights of the trip this time around. I am buried in so much music that it takes a lot to impress me, even in baseball songs. This one is extraordinary. It helped to make up for the fact that I screwed up my reservations and was scheduled to return home on a plane on MARCH 22 instead of FEBRUARY 22, and I barely made it home (it was the end of the school vacation and the planes were jammed!).
