Since 2005, Papelbon?s WHIP of 0.98 trails only Joe Nathan (0.920) and Mariano Rivera (0.904).
Papelbon's .198 batting average against puts him only behind Billy Wagner's .195 and Joe Nathan's .181. Lefties have hit .186 against him and righties, .212.
In save situations, Papelbon has 1.82 ERA (non-save 1.81). In saves, his ERA is a scary 0.74.
