I read that the latest "big" baseball headline is "Josh Hamilton was seen Drinking". Newsworthy? Probably not, leave the guy alone, but sad none the less. I am a Red Sox fan first, but a baseball fan in general. I respect good players in the league and was glad to see such a fine player overcome some demons from his past. It would be a shame if he were to become addicted again and let his career go down hill. If he has relapsed, I hope he is open to help and he gets it and realizes that many fans of baseball are behind him.

I have never been addicted to drugs or alcohol so I don't know what it's like, so I can't judge a person for it.  I have never done something that inadvertently got someone killed, such as Josh throwing a foul ball to a fan and then the man falling to his death in front of his young son.  I felt awful for Josh and for the man's family. This was a tragic accident and I can't possibly comprehend what went through Josh's mind after the incident nor how he has been able to deal with it.

Hopefully the media won't blow it way out of proportion and just let him get help and hopefully be on the right track for this upcoming season.

This fan wishes Josh the best in coping with that incident and hopes he can be strong enough to overcome once again.

I hope what you read is not true. Could I hope it's just some intern looking for 5 minutes of fame. My Dad drank alot when I was growing up too. But hasn't had a drink in over 30 years and don't have any desire to have a drink. He got sick of living alone and no one coming to visit made him change his life. I hope Josh gets help before it's to late. Great read Paul. ...View More

Sorry Murph, didn't mean any disrespect to your situation or anyone else who may have dealt with a similar issue. I just hope he can overcome, it is such a shame to waste a talent by giving in to old demons. I think of his family too. It is just the way the news media jumps on stuff and maybe that incident wit the fan pushed him in this direction and you'd hate for the media to hound him and push him furhter down that bad road. Although, at this time not much is being said, so let's hope he is dealing with it positively. I'm sure those days still affect you and perhaps made you the man you are and the father you are to your kids. A good one. ...View More
