This past summer I watched a Showtime series called, The Franchise: a season with the SF Giants. It gave me some insight as to what goes on behind the scenes and not just what we see on the field. I also got some newfound respect for the very unusual, but very likeable closer Brian Wilson.
During the show it focused on certain individuals and one of them was Cody Ross. I think this will be a nice addition to the Sox lineup and a better player to share the number 7 with the likes of Trot Nixon and the late Dom Dimaggio... instead of JD drew.
Cody Ross was also NLCS MVP when the Giants went to the World Series. He seems to have a personality like Kevin Millar, which I think is a good thing for morale in a clubhouse. Look what it did for this team in 2004.
So welcome to Boston, Mr. Ross. I look forward to seeing what you can do to help this team and bring respect back to the number 7.
