Grab a big bucket of chicken and settle in for the World Series! The Rangers are going back for a second try. Perhaps Josh Beckett is home in Texas, where he can sit and watch the World Series all comfy in a big chair with big screen TV and a big ol' bucket of chicken and a cooler full of beer. Ah, good times, Josh....good times. Nice to see other teams have been enjoying a successful season.
What a way to finish, 15-5. Texas came to play and play they did after an early deficit. Hopefully they can carry that momentum into the series as last year I was quite disappointed in the way Texas played. I expected a much more exciting world Series, the Rangers just didn't show up. It was nice to see the Giants win though and I am a fan of Brian Wilson. If you haven't seen Showtimes series, "The Franchise: A season with the SF Giants", check it out. I got a glimpse of who Wilson is and I gotta say, I like the guy.
So here we are again and this time I hope Texas can take it home. I believe it will be the Cardinals and Rangers, so this should be a great World Series, likely going 7 games. Kudos to Nelson Cruz for achieving a record 6 Home runs in a single post game series.
So as a Red Sox fan, I must say how come we don't have players like David Murphy or Adrian Beltre? Oh yes, we did, but we got better talent for them......or did we?
It is ironic that the teams everyone expected to be in the World Series are home watching it. Phillies-Red Sox was the big talk early in the season, and the Yankees are always expected to be there too.
As a baseball fan, I enjoy the lesser seen teams getting a shot, of course when it isn't my team involved. It should be exciting basebll to watch and hopefully people will watch rather than just switching to football.
Good luck to the Texas Rangers to bring their first World Series Championship to their fans. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I can appreciate how exciting that is when it finally happens.
