Buzzworthy - Feature It!

I am completely disgusted right now. I hope that everyone will follow this link and read the interview Fenway West had with the Governor of RSN for California. "I felt partially responsible for reversing the curse," because she became a fan during inter-league play that year in San Francisco. I dont want to ruin it for you guys...read it yourselves.

Not every fan has $15 to drop on RSN. Doesn't mean they're not fans. As I noted, there are many ways to contact RS fans, besides RSN and Sawxheads. None were used.

"It only takes $14.95 to be recogonized as a real fan. " That statement is a big bunch of BCRAP I ain't paying and $$$ to be a REAL FAN!!! Take your Pink Hat and Hit the Road.

I think the Red Sox need to communicate with the Governors and the fans to tell them what they should do and what we should expect from them. I think Karen Doherty is a committed fan, just not your typical longtime Red Sox fan. You can't blame her for that, I don't know if I would have converted to the Red Sox if I didn't grow up in Boston.

Exactly Dana...that's my point...what do you expect...stop picking on the lady...it's the organization behind her I don't much care for.

It only takes $14.95 to be recogonized as a real fan. Will that be accepted as proof in court? I'm a card carrying member. I want to be Gov of California. Sign me up!

"In 2004 the Boston Red Sox began offering official citizenship in Red Sox Nation. For a small fee, fans received a membership card with the words "Official Red Sox Nation Citizen" and access to additional Red Sox merchandise offers and newsletters.Red Sox Nation is now offering membership for a new nation, which consists of four levels of membership: "Fan Pack" for $14.95; "Hat Pack for $29.95" "Ultimate Fan Pack" for $114.95; and "Monster Pack" for $299.00. Not sure why you're all jumping on the lady... ...View More

well sometimes it is what it is... All you can do is make the best of the situation that was created. My suggestion you should contact her personally instead of calling her out on a site you said she is not a member of. She may be the anti-Christ or she may be a true fan of RSN. She does appear to be taken down a notch with that curse thing and I have seen you guys bring people to tears on here so do your best. Get to the bottom of it. ...View More

I am quite surprised that a newbie was chosen as Gov of RSN-CA. OK, no matter as long as she's a true fan and can get done what is asked of RSN Gov's, but that hasn't happened. There are several conduits available to contact Red Sox fans in CA: Sawxheads, Fenway West, Meetup.com, the big Annual Sox @ Oakland tailgate party, and local Red Sox bars such as The CT Yankee in SF, but we haven't heard a skweek from her. Fenway West is linked on many other Sox blogs. If she had been unaware of Fenway West but had been reading other blogs, one would think that a name like 'Fenway West' would have piqued her interest. OK, Ms. Gov of RSN-CA, if you're reading this, what's next? ...View More

"I felt partially responsible for reversing the curse," That is a pretty bold statement. I am not sure much about this lady besides what was posted but I don't think time is the most important factor in being a fan. I don't think she is based on what was said but passion and knowledge of the game goes a long way. I am sure there are way more qualified people to take her role.

good blog cali.I think most people in their states are wondering the same question. But then again look at who got president.President should have gone to a *reg joe* type person rather then a tv anchor is all I am saying.

Does not fit their family image??? It sounds like someone has forgotten what being a fan is all about. It does not matter what your "lifestlye" is, it only matters that you are a loyal fan.

yeah.who ever chose the gov I wonder what they were thinking..most of them just became sox fans in either 04 or 07....they are not what a true red sox fan is and most of them need to get off the wagon..

I don't buy into the whole RSN.com deal (and that's EXACTLY what you do BUY into it). 'nuf ced.

I did not, however I know a few incredibly dedicated fans that did! Fenway West being one of them. Knowing now what I know about our current incumbent I would have surely ran! I am a die hard but there are others that devote thousands of hours to their own websites, Red Sox bars and what not. THOSE are the people deserving of this very award, in my opinion.

Cali -- Not aware at all how these Gov's are selected. But, curious, did you run for the position??

CaliGrow -- there are a lot of governors who do not even check into the RSN members' board!

My suggestion - HAVE YOUR OWN EVENTS, but tell your "governor" that you're conducting them. You do not need permission or approval to hold your own watch parties. Don't let it get in your way.

She mentioned that CA Sox fans don't know about sawxheads and yet SHE DOESNT HAVE AN ACCOUNT! Give me a break! I doubt she attended any of the recent games in Oakland, if she were there she would have seen the 150+ person Sox tailgate party in parking lot D, by the way that was the 8th annual Sox tailgater, LMAO!

Wow! So there's no real criteria to be elected. What about the diehards that have been with them for years? Its the same thing here in VA Cali, the person that won does nothing! Sad.
