Here is some Jackie Robinson game footage to the tune of Count Bassie's "Have You Seen Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball?" The song was recorded in 1949 at the height of Jackie's popularity and was repopularized with its inclusion in Ken Burns' "BASEBALL" documentary.
The research that I did for my earlier blog has really piqued my interest in Robinson's fascinating story...and besides it's such a happy little tune!
You know what's incredible? The first baseman blocked his way to the bag, Jackie collided with him and the pitcher came racing over to yell at JACKIE for it! Amazing how far we've come these days. HA!
