Daisuke Matsuzaka (through his interpreter) told a throng of reporters in Goodyear, Az today that he signed with the Indians because he wanted to pitch against the Red Sox. Yes Dice BB has a chip on his shoulder against the team that blew a hundred million dollars bringing him to Boston. He has a Grudge, ill will, bitterness - rancor if you will - towards a team and a town that put up with his special needs, allowed him and paid for not just a translator but a special work out routine trainers and a masseuse. And you want revenge? I don’t even recall a day where this waste of money and a roster spot was even booed as he did his weekly impression of Cain in Kung Fu and “walked the earth”.
The Real story here is Butchie’s sources tell him that Dice BB didn’t have ANY other offers to pitch in the good old US of A - none, nada, zip - not a single contract offer, National or American League crossed his agent’s desk except for the pitching-weary Indians. So while the story coming out of the Tribe’s camp might be Dice has what it takes, it seems that no one else thinks so.
So, while he seeks revenge, Butchie and I hope he makes it as the fifth starter in the Tribe’s rotation. Just to watch him walk the bases loaded and
Popi go yard.
