You Can’t Fix Stupid, You Have to Fire it  

In every corner of Bobby Valentines’ mind knows he is a Genius and luckily for him in the minds of the Red Sox Corporation (John Henry, Tom Werner, and President of Baseball Operations Larry Lucchino) he is or he was. This last foot in mouth incident may have just opened their eyes to the fact that Bobby V has been selling everyone snake oil all along. The Corporation wants to sell Bricks and Bobby’s brand of stupid doesn’t sell bricks.  

In an interview Saturday Bobby couldn’t resist that little light blinking in the corner of his eye. He was once again going to show everyone he knew something no one else did. Why Kevin Youkilis was off to a slow start.

Bobby said of Youk “"I don't think he's as physically or emotionally into the game as he has been in the past for some reason’’ he said this about a man he has known for five seconds. About a man who has done everything asked of him since he put on a Red Sox uniform and for that matter I would venture since he put his first little league uniform. And Bobby in his infinite wisdom called Youk out. Not smart.

After that brilliant move there were multiple closed door meetings with Youk, Ben Cherington, Pedroia and some say Ben Cherington again. Of course all this will stay In House. what didn’t stay in house was the outrage by Pedroia when asked about the situation Dustin said

“I really don't know what Bobby is trying to do," Pedroia said Monday. "That's not the way we go about our stuff around here. He'll figure that out. The whole team is behind Youk. We have each other's backs here."

Pedroia was then asked whether he thought Valentine perhaps was trying to light a fire under Youkilis, who is hitting .200 on the young season.

"Maybe that works in Japan,” nice shot Pedy. Bravo

This morning before a Patriot Day gathering of the Main Stream media Bobby hemmed and hawed and scratched his chin Looking every bit the Guilty man trying to beg the jury not to send him to the electric chair. And Bobby being Bobby he dug his hole deeper when he said Youkilis approached him Monday morning and he"totally apologized.” I don't know if he accepted my apology. It was sincere," once again trying to look like the misunderstood genus. While what he was really doing was backing the bus back up over the body he had just tossed under it the day before. Not smart

In a few short weeks Bobby has already turned this team into a us against him situation. Again Not smart

If you start adding up all the not so smart moves this genius has made since he was hired here it’s starting to look a lot more like a kindergarten class and not a Mensa meeting. I’m sorry but you just can’t fix stupid.. But you can Fire it.
