Last nights game was a close one. Paps had to get 4 outs for the win and when runners were in scoring position, you could have heard a pin drop from the fans. We were all so quiet; so busy chewing our nails that we were not helping out our team.
ESPN said, 'usually the fans become the 10th man but, in Boston that is not the case, they are so scared something wrong is going to happen." I am ashamed that this lack of help from the fans continues year after year after year. When I go to games I shout as loud as I can, even when we are losing because I want to contribute. True fans need to contribute as best as they can. True fans can blog about their team, even challenge their team from time to time as I do, we can wear our hats and team shirts with pride, but please what is most important is to shout out encouragements, cheer your team on and help them get some emotion when they are tired.
Do not give ESPN the satisfaction of making us seem like we are not behind our team.
