Is Victor going to be enough to beat the Yankees?

We are 8 and 0 against New York this year. On April 24th (my birthday), Boston gave me another great present with an awesome comeback. However, now things are different. We do not have Dice K, we do not have Manny, Jason is hurt and our rabbit that is John Smoltz has yet to be successfully pulled out of the hat.
When we first beat the Yankees this year they did not have Arod and we did not have Victor and so I wonder if the addition of Victor will be enough to even split this series.
Sadly my blind devotion to all things Red Sox does not protect me from wondering how we can possibly dominate New York during this series. We still have issues with errors thanks to our shortstop concerns. We still have issues with power thanks to David Ortiz's struggles. Our pitching is anything but dominant and I was very much surprised to see that we did not obtain better pitching for the second half. Yes, we went after Hernandez, but since we did not obtain him, who do we fall back on? Penny? Smoltz? Buchholz?
Although I would love to see dominance over the Yankees once again, I am starting to believe that if we obtain a split during this series we will come out very lucky.
Your thoughts?
