Boston, Why LaRoche for Kochman?

ESPN saw that it was clear, other web sites saw it was clear and so did a few of us fans here in the Nation; we all thought it was clear that Boston needed a solid defensive minded SS. It made no sense to me to obtain Casey except that we traded up in batting average.
Are you still going to look in the waivers or are you content in what you have. Green has made a ton of defensive errors which is a big, big thing. We won the 2004 World Series by trading for Defense.
I know we have two SS, one who has a better defensive mind yet I was so sure you were going to trade LaRoche for a SS. At least I was right that LaRoche was not long for Boston but Casey? I guess he will play a utility role to back up Victor when and if he backs up Victor. Otherwise Victor will own 1B.
Any thoughts nation?
