How About Adrian Gonzalez?

For those keeping track, I have mentioned Kyle Blanks as a possible player that might help Boston for the second half. Blanks seemed like an easily acquired player because he is presently playing in the outfield, a position that does not fit his size and ability, because Adrian is playing at first base.
Well, now I wonder if the Padres would be more willing to part with Adrian in order to provide Blanks with his natural position. Blanks is a power hitting first base man who needs a full time gig in the majors in order to show forth his tremendous talent. Therefore, if the Padres become interested in one of our pitchers, you might see a swap take place prior to the deadline that would land the talented Gonzalez in Boston.
A move like this one would allow Ortiz to forever remain at the utility role, while leaving Youk at third. Lowell would then be his back-up. It makes sense, and we certainly do need some added pop, in order to counter the productivity of two teams presently breathing down our necks.
