Jesus said be ready for you know not the hour which I come . Our time here on earth is a transient thing, with no set boundaries or borders , we are all here but for a fleeting moment in eternity, a brief moment of brightness like a star that’s gone nova . Then a slow dimming into the void of space. Into each life the basic needs are met, hunger is fed, weariness is abated, and the need to seek out comfort and companionship is sought.
A Mother has a son and raises him as she thinks a man should be raised, she nurtures him and hopes to see in him a reflection of herself. A son sees the Mother as a rock and a guiding light in his life, an influence unsurpassed by any other , the mother son bond is love in its truest state, and if you are lucky you will have it for many years, I was very lucky and had my mom til I was 50 years old ,she was 83 and had been through a lot, however it is never easy to let go, , and the pain and loss that one endures is never easy .
When a Mother passes the son will feel the pangs of loneliness and loss. It is at this time one of my brothers is feeling this loss, and I am reaching out to him in his hour of need , I will pray for him, as I know my fellow brethren here will pray ,
And I hope That he will find peace, and comfort in the fact that his mom is in a far better place and will always be at his side.
Brother Whitey, I am sorry for your loss, the timing of your loss must make it hard to cope , for you have so much going on in your life at this time. but I am here for you , all you need do is call on me , my prayers and Darlene’s are with you and your family . As are the prayers of many others on this site , God bless you and may your mom find peace.

Yes we once had more traffic to this site in a single day than it now sees in a week , and not just the sox site but all the tru fan sites combined , we had bloggers, we had poets, we had news, and yes we even had controversy , we tried to homogenize the site and mix all fans together in a non offensive and gentile site.
But in doing so something was lost , the spirit was lost and now it is a ghost of its former self .
Remember difference is the spice of life , no one wants a homogenized sterilized and germ free society .
A wise man once said , “ If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, “
But we went ahead and fixed it anyway, and the site has withered to a ghost of it's fromer self.

The site is slow and the only people that really post anything are the ones that are getting paid to do so...don't get me wrong, they write outstanding pieces but I can get outstanding writing on better sites that have actual "insiders". I miss the conversations, the blogs and just checking in on friends but it isn't worth it on here any more...I do not miss the RSMers that gave the entire group a bad name...but I do miss MOST RSMers! Where indeed?! I miss this site soooo much and especially YOUR BLOGS Rev. I miss exery person that I had the pleaasure to share so much of our beloved team THE RED SOX!! As I said earlier, Rev, Sawxheads started off as a site for fans -- intelligent ones -- to post blogs, and exchange ideas. It also promised to become a social website and could have done so. HOWEVER, the site become one that was focused on, and gave highlighted attention to those who were seeking careers in media; we all got pushed off into obscurity within the page; social meetups were stopped; and that was that.
But to give Rafe credit -- he tried to expand the concept beyond Red Sox followers. If you don't try, you do not have any chance of succeeding. ...View More...View Less
Well Rev, part of my time away from these pages that I loved before was taken away from me b/c I had some personal issues that I had to deal with... and still am. I never... EVER forgot about the many, many friends & ~RSM~ FAMILY members that I was very lucky/honored to make on these hollowed pages. I looked forward to coming here each & every day to share all things Boston Red Sox with all my friends & family. Over time, Sawxheads was disrupted & taken away from those of us who tried to keep the flame & spirit of things alive to the ones that mattered most. I check in from time to time, but the life that was here once is now long gone... and can never... EVER be brought back to us. I cherish & value the many, many friends & ~RSM~ family members that I was able to share time with... and look forward to being able to do it once again. Aight, I heard a lot of crap from some supposed Red Sox fans last month about how it was the middle of May and we were already out of it, they said we needed to play 750 ball the rest of the way or we had no chance, they then pointed out the June swoon was still due, Gag me with a spoon It's now the middle of June and as I check the standings , we are one game out!! get it? one game out !! I say now as I said then ........................., Keep the faith .....
well as one of thhose who riped Theo apart for putting this team together i will tip my hat and gladly eat a big ol plate of crow if this keep up and we make the playoffs..

The Boston Red sox are a storied franchise, and over the years they have had thier share of great players, they have also had their share of true American hero' s, men that served thier country at the expense of their careers, real life heros who put thier lives on the line so you and I could remain free. Today I would like to pay tribute to these men,
One of these men is none other than the greatest hitter who ever lived, Ted Williams whos credentials were above reproach , he lost three years of his prime to WW ll, and another to the Korean conflict, the 17 time allstar won two mvps , and was jobbed out of two more, as he did not win it in either of the two years he won the triple crown, he was a seven time batting champ and the last person ever to hit 400 hitting 406 in 1941, he was a nine time leader in slugging percentage a four time leader in home runs he led the league eight times in base on balls , Teddy ballgame had a more than decent shot at Babes home run record had he not lost these years in service to his country , Ted Williams was a true american hero , a John Wayne in Baseball cleats.
Another of these men to serve was the Little professor, Dom Dimaggio the diminutive and lesser known brother of Yankee Great, Joe Dimaggio , The yankee clippers brother was quite a ballplayer in his own right, and if not for his service to his country may have made the hall of fame himself. This seven time all star led the league in runs twice , in triples once , stolen bases once, and was the main reason Teddy ballgame had so many rbi's . his 34 game hitting streak in 1949 still stands as a red sox record to this day . and in 1948 his totals of 503 put outs and 526 chances stood as american league records for nearly 30 years
And let us not forget Johny Pesky , that fiesty shortstop with a career 307 batting average, Johnny led the league in hits in 1942, 1946, and 1947 collecting over two hundred hits in each of those seasons ,he lost the 1943 and 1944 seasons to the war . Nicknamed needles he was in the top ten in on base percentage six times A left handed hitter who threw right handed Pesky was a tough man for pitchers to strike out , he was the first american league player to score 6 runs in a nine inning game .
These three players among others, were true american heroes, as each sacrificed prime years of thier playing careers to fight for our right to be free. Each of these men chose to serve our country, and forsake personal and professional goals to do so , today we honor these men and others like them , for this is thier day . God bless them , and god bless all who served .
