PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — After yesterday’s ex-Red Sox shortstops day, today’s focus will be ex-Red Sox left fielders.
Jason Bay just got done chatting with a few Boston scribes, beginning with an announcement that he had no interest in re-hashing the offseason drama between him and the Red Sox. He did speak about how he has had a seamless transition returning to the National League and his experience with a big-market team like the Red Sox should not hurt that change at all.
He laughed at the idea that the Red Sox offense would take a hit without him. “I think it’s everyone keeps talking about their offense,” he said. “I guess it’s offseason fodder but it’s kind of baffling, almost funny. I think they’ll be fine.”
The Red Sox bus from Fort Myers is en route. David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, John Lackey and a few others are on it. We’ll post the lineup later.
