(Herald) – As if we didn?t know, even with all the festivities, this is a business. And we just got another reminder. A mere 24 hours before the Super Bowl, the Patriots made their final transaction in a year full of them. In one of the coldest moves ever, the Patriots released WR Tiquan Underwood and promoted DE Alex Silvestro. This all but guarantees that WR Chad Ochocinco will be active. And while you have to feel for Underwood, who must be devastated, he will almost certainly get a ring if they win the Super Bowl. I am told there were not disciplinary reasons for the move. Underwood did not do anything wrong, and I expect him to be back next year. But perhaps they wanted another defensive linemen on the field.
Umm bro it’s just an expression. I mean that’s clearly he partied to hard right? People don’t just get kicked off a team less than 24 hours before a Super Bowl for nothing. Rappaport can tell me it wasn’t disciplinary until he’s blue in the face, I’ll never believe him. Tiquan just took the Yo Soy Fiesta lifestyle a little bit too seriously. It’s not for everybody, I guess. I bet he went out and had one hell of a f*&king night. Probably not worth losing suiting up in the Super Bowl over, but I’m sure it was still a bender for the ages.
PS – cue an “I told you so!” from all the insane Sports Hub callers who say the Pats have been saving Ochocinco all season to unleash him as a secret weapon.
Double PS – how much does this suck for Tiquan’s hair? Dude has been grooming that all season for the big stage and now? Worthless.
